Community Impact & Reconciliation

The RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg is committed to making a difference in all aspects of our community.

Truth & Reconciliation

The RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg is proud and honoured to be a partner of the City of Winnipeg’s Indigenous Accord. Our vision is to foster a culture within our Centre where the key principles of truth and reconciliation are aligned with our values, in accordance with Call to Action #92.

Our progress to date includes ongoing training for all levels of staff, displaying art from the Indigenous community, including a large mural on the exterior of our North Building, and fostering relationships with local Indigenous organizations.

To learn more about our commitment to truth and reconciliation, read our annual entries in the Accord Partner Goals and Progress Report documents, available on the City of Winnipeg’s Indigenous Accord page

Convention Centre Cares Committee

Our Convention Centre Cares committee organizes community outreach initiatives and works closely with organizations. The Committee participates annually in the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s Spring CleanUp, and each year chooses new initiatives to support such as Habitat for Humanity Home Builds and blood donation drives.

Food Waste Reduction & Donations

Our culinary team prioritizes waste reduction and balances our business needs with supporting the local community. We work with partners such as Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization, and Compost Winnipeg, which diverts organic waste from landfills.

Supporting Local Businesses

We prioritize developing partnerships in our community and supporting local vendors whenever possible. Utilizing Winnipeg, Manitoban, and Canadian products and services not only proudly showcases our community to our visitors, but it also supports the local economy and reduces our carbon footprint.
