Ambassador Plaque Program

Each year, a number of local residents who are members of various organizations undertake presentations or bids to have their annual conferences held in Winnipeg. Upon awarding of the bid to these local host committees, a number of volunteers commit their services as they plan and organize these major events often two to three years prior to the conference actually hitting our town.

These host committees are proud of their community and work hard to ensure all conference delegates experience the local hospitality that our city can offer.

In September 1994, the RBC Convention Centre introduced its annual Ambassador Plaque Program to recognize the importance of these local community committees who bring positive recognition, understanding and commerce to our city and province.

Plaques are permanently mounted for public viewing on the Centre’s “Ambassador Plaque Wall of Fame” on the first floor of the North Building near the front entrance off York Avenue.
