First Floor Information - Specialty Rooms/Services
VIP Salon
This private room provides a relaxing atmosphere and is ideally appointed, set in "lounge style" with armchairs and sofas. Ideal for small receptions (capacity: 85 people), head table ready gathering area and smaller private luncheons/dinners capacity: 56). Private washrooms and a built-in bar provide further comfort in this function room.
Executive Conference Centre
This function room utilizes permanent boardroom set-up for 12 people at the boardroom table with room away from the table for 12 more. It is fully equipped for video/teleconferencing using AVW-TELAV Audio Visual Solutions, so you can be connected to anywhere in the world. Self-contained reception area with coat check and self-contained washroom facilities are value-added features of this function room, which can easily be utilized for smaller meetings or your conference office.

Coat Check
The Coat Check area located in the Southwest Corner (Edmonton Street/York Avenue) can accommodate up to 1,200 coats in the normal room layout or 2,000 in the expanded room capacity utilizing rooms 17/18. Coat Check staffing is available from September through April at a rate of $14.00 per hour, per employee with one employee per 100 coats. In the months of May through August coat checks can be made available with coin-operated portable coat racks or by special arrangement with your Event Coordinator.
Southeast Concourse
The Southeast Concourse area 2,250 square feet/209 square meters (Carlton Street/York Avenue) can be booked for use as a delegate registration area, advance reception area or additional display area.
East Concourse
The East Concourse area (Northeast/Carlton Street) can be utilized as a pre-reception, lounge/waiting, additional exhibit area. The approximate area is 2,618 square feet/243 square meters with a ceiling height of 12 feet.
Security Information Office
This office is manned on a 24-hour basis and located at the Northwest corner (Edmonton Street & St. Mary Avenue). This office will provide exhibitor access/assistance to our third floor level via the passenger or freight elevators located in this area.
First/Ground Floor Loading Dock
Located in the Northwest Corner (Edmonton Street & St. Mary Avenue), our ground floor loading dock is the primary shipping & receiving dock for the Centre. A shipper/receiver is on duty during normal business hours Monday - Friday. For after hour use, our Security Staff will provide assistance. Two freight elevators are located in our north end, one in the loading dock area/one in the kitchen area. These freight elevators operate between all floor levels including the lower parkade levels.
SOCAN Fees
Pursuant to a license agreement between the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), the Centre is obligated to collect SOCAN license fees, in accordance with applicable tariffs, from all Licensees and users of the facility in respect of the performance of musical works on the premises which are arranged for or authorized by the Licensee. If you have arranged for music at your event, the Centre will assess the SOCAN licensing fees payable by you, in accordance with the applicable tariffs. To obtain the fee for your event, contact your Event Coordinator.
Public Liability
The Centre requires that all licensees have comprehensive general liability insurance. Licensees will provide evidence of coverage (copy of certificate) for comprehensive general liability insurance to a minimum single combined limit of $2 million bodily injury and property damage, or such other limit as the Centre may deem appropriate, and tenant's legal liability insurance to a minimum limit of $500,000. The Centre reserves the right to specify increased limits respecting liability insurance per event. The Licensee further agrees that it will procure public liability, property damage, employer's liability and fire and extended perils coverage in such limits as Centre shall require and a certificate of insurance evidencing such coverage in form and content satisfactory to the Centre and shall be delivered to the Centre by Licensee at least FIVE DAYS prior to the date upon which the Licensee is to take possession of any of the designated areas. Insurance is available through the Winnipeg Convention Centre's carrier at prescribed rates with the addition of a $25.00 handling/service fee - contact your Event Coordinator.
