Catering Services

The Winnipeg Convention Centre is committed to the highest standards of quality and service. The following information will assist you in planning your event.

Kitchen/Culinary Arts
For students with a specific interest in culinary arts and kitchen operations, tours can be augmented with a presentation by the Centre's Executive Chef. The timing of these sessions will depend on the focus and scope of the presentation or demonstration.

Requests for these presentations should be made well in advance of the requested date. Please provide a choice of your preferred dates so we can coordinate a mutually convenient date based on the students' schedules and the availability of the Executive Chef.
Alcoholic Beverages
Are served only in accordance with the regulations of the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission (MLCC). Please refer to our Beverage Services information for full details/regulations.
Event Coordinator
Menu details, audiovisual requirements, service and function room set-up details are important elements to the success of your event. It is important to note that your Event Coordinator is the individual responsible for tracking and communicating all the details and ensuring that you, the client, provide all the information that is required to make your event a success. Changes to plans, requests and communications must be directed to your Event Coordinator.
Exclusivity
All food and beverage products served at the Winnipeg Convention Centre will be prepared and served by our Catering Department. Requests for special products, or product sampling at trade shows must be submitted to the Centre for approval. Please consult with your Event Coordinator for full details.
SOCAN Tariffs
Pursuant to a license agreement between the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), the Centre is obligated to collect SOCAN license fees, in accordance with applicable tariffs, from all Licensees and users of the facility in respect of the performance of musical works on the premises which are arranged for or authorized by the Licensee. If you have arranged for music at your event, the Centre will assess the SOCAN licensing fees payable by you, in accordance with the applicable tariffs.
Menu Selection & Dietary Substitutes
To be assured of your menu choice, it is necessary that your Event Coordinator receive menu selections and final details of the event no later than four (4) weeks prior to the event date. The Centre requires all information on special dietary requirements by noon, no less than three working days in advance of the event date. Note: Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays are not considered working days.
Guarantees
For groups of 1,000 or more:
It is necessary that we receive your "final guarantee" (confirmed attendance) for each individual meal function by noon, five (5) business days prior to the date of the event. After that date, your guarantee is not subject to change.

It is necessary that we receive your "final guarantee" (confirmed attendance) for each individual meal function by noon, three (3) business days prior to the date of the event. After that date, your guarantee is not subject to change.

We will be prepared to serve 5% over the "final guarantee", to a maximum of 50 meals. The client will be billed based upon the "final guarantee" or the actual number of meals served, whichever is greater.
